Jürg Marquard starts publishing achtivities with a youth magazine POP in Switzerland.
Growth of POP/ROCKY to the second largest German youth title through various mergers. Marquard Media becomes- with its wide range of titles- the second largest publisher in the youth and music magazines segment.
Entry into the lifestyle magazine segment with acquisition of COSMOPOLITAN license. COSMOPOLITAN becomes an extremely successful monthly premium women's magazine in the German speaking market.
Launch of Hungarian versions of POPCORN and Mädchen. Jürg Marquard becomes the first Western publisher of regularly appearing magazines in Central and Eastern Europe.
Expansion of activities in Central and Eastern Europe with the purchase of several daily newspapers in Hungary and Poland, and establishment of several magazines. Enlargement of premium magazine segment with launch of JOY and SHAPE in the German speaking market.

Acquisition and integration of VIPress Poland (PLAYBOY and VOYAGE) into the Polish business unit.
Public takeover of 88% of the Computec Media AG, Fürth, with 14 magazines the leading publisher in the electronic entertainment and digital lifestyle market.
Development of an online division and the International License Department.
Acquisition of Cypress and various online portals through Computec Media is introduced. Also, an asset swap through the acquisition of Axel Springer’s Polish women’s portfolio (4 titles) in return for a sports newspaper to Axel Springer is imposed. Launch of EVA in Hungary.
Acquisition of 57% of Community Center GmbH, Bad Nauheim, the publisher of schueler.cc, through Computec Media.
Extensive cost restructuring and portfolio concentration due to the global financial crisis. Asset swap with Edipresse Poland, gaining the glossy women’s shopping title HOT in return for weeklies and real-life titles. Expansion of women's premium segment in Hungary with the launch of INSTYLE.

Acquisition of 100% of Golem GmbH, Berlin. Main activity of Golem is the publication of the online portal golem.de.
Takeover of the gaming magazines XBG Games and PlayBlu and of the game industry news portal gamesindustry.biz. Strategic decision to sell the German lifestyle portfolio to Bauer Media Group and also to sell the Polish weekly magazine Olivia to Bauer Poland. Acquisition and integration of Kozaczek, Poland, with six portals which are focused on fashion, style and beauty and celebrities. Launch of Hungarian edition of Men’s Health to complete the men’s portfolio.
Acquisition of 100% of 4Players GmbH, Hamburg, with its main activities: game server business, gaming website and 4Players League.
In February launch of the Polish language edition of Harper’s Bazaar, the luxurious women's lifestyle-magazine in Poland.
